Discord strictly prohibits non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) and works to identify, remove, and prevent its spread across the platform. This article covers how people in the United States can file a non-consensual intimate imagery report under the Take It Down Act (TIDA), one of several tools available for the removal of NCII on Discord.
What this article covers:
What Can Be Reported
If you are in the United States you can report content under TIDA that:
- Shows you (or someone you're authorized to represent) nude or engaged in sexually explicit conduct
- Was shared without your consent, or was captured when you had a reasonable expectation of privacy
- Is either authentic, AI-generated, or digitally manipulated depicting you
This includes images or videos you may have originally consented to create but did not consent to have shared. There's no time limit—you can report content regardless of when it was created or posted.
How to Submit a Report
Reports under TIDA must be submitted through our public report webform found at discord.com/report.
Within 48 hours of a report being submitted, we’ll review the report and take appropriate action. You will be notified via email on the status of your report.
Reports may be submitted by the depicted individual or an authorized representative (e.g. a parent, guardian, attorney) of the depicted individual. Multiple reports are allowed - please create one report for each piece of media.
Accessing the Report Form
1. On desktop or mobile devices, navigate to discord.com/report on your preferred browser
2. Follow the steps in the form to file a report.
Required Information
We recognize that reporting non-consensual intimate imagery can be difficult. Your report will remain confidential, and we will not disclose your information to the person who uploaded the imagery of you.
To file a report under the Take It Down Act, the following information is required by law:
- Legal name of the person that is depicted in the reported content
- Email address where you wish to receive updates on your report
- Country of residence
- Link to the content you are reporting (see the instructions in the next section on how to get the content link)
- Your relationship to the content
- Content type (what is depicted and the age of the depicted individual)
- A good faith statement that the content was distributed without consent
- Electronic signature

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When should I report NCII using the webform at discord.com/report and when should I report NCII using the standard in-app reporting process?
A: The right process depends on your situation:
If you're in the United States and the images are of you or someone for whom you have legal authority to represent, the webform may be your best option—we also take steps to remove other copies of the same content, not just the one you report.
If you're outside the US, or you're reporting images of someone else that you don’t have legal authority to represent, you can report content under our Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery policy via our standard reporting process using the in-app report menu.
We review your reports and take action where our policies apply. Whichever approach you use, your report will be reviewed.
Q: How quickly will the content be taken down after I report it?
A: Within 48 hours of a report being submitted, we will review the report and will remove the content if it meets the criteria for removal under the Take It Down Act.
Q: If an image is found to meet the criteria for removal under the Take It Down Act and is removed, can Discord prevent the same image from being uploaded again?
A: Yes, once an image is found to meet the criteria for removal under the Take It Down Act, it will be tagged in our systems and we will prevent it from being uploaded again to the best of our ability.
Q: Does Discord disclose my information to the person who shared the content that I report?
A: No. We will not share the information you provide to us via the report form with users who posted the content to Discord. They will only be notified that the content has been removed, but not who reported it.
Q: How will I know what happened to my report?
A: After submitting your report, you'll hear from us twice. First, a confirmation email so you know your report reached us. Then, within 48 hours, we'll send a follow-up email with an update on whether the content was removed based on whether it met the criteria under the Take It Down Act.
Q: Can I submit an appeal if action was not taken on my report?
A: You have the option to submit another report if you believe we did not take appropriate action on your initial report.
Q: How can I appeal if action is taken on my account?
A: If you posted content that was found to meet the criteria for removal under the Take It Down Act or our Community Guidelines, you may be entitled to an appeal under your local laws. See our blog post with instructions on how to appeal here.
Q: What resources are available for me if my sensitive photos have been shared or published online?
A: If your sensitive photos have been shared or published online, there is help available, including the following resources:
StopNCII is a free tool designed to support adult victims and survivors of NCII abuse.
Take It Down is a free tool designed to support removal of online nude, partially nude, or sexually explicit imagery taken before the depicted person was 18.
More resources are also available in our Wellbeing Hub.
Q: Is there a limit to how many reports I can submit?
A: We have rate limits in place to prevent mass reports of the same content, and submitting too many reports in a short timeframe can result in your reports being rejected. If you encounter an error message after submitting several reports in a row, please wait 24 hours before submitting additional reports.
