Permission to create channels in a cateory *without* channel managing access

This feature is requested here, but I'm reposting it as that request was posted 4 years ago and received little traction.

There needs to be a feature for users to create channels in a category without the ability to delete others! I run a server among my colleagues in my graduate program, and I allow them to create their own channels as the need arises. At the moment, the only way to grant such permission is to enable the permission to manage channels in the category and then manually disable the permission for each individual channel (which is so tedious!).

I can't imagine this would be an unpopular feature, as collaboration is a mainstay of Discord, and I found this question on various forums in searching for an answer to this issue. I'm sure there are other servers in which the admin may want folks to be able to create channels without deleting them. The goal would be to essentially allow users to create and manage their own channels without gaining access to others in the server as setup by the admin.
