Constant 20% CPU Usage on Ubuntu 20.04

Discord is consuming 20% of a thread when idle in the background. This usage statistic is observed while my 5900HX laptop CPU frequency is fixed to its stock frequencies. It would be ok while my CPU frequencies go down to 1GHz, but this is extreme at 3.3GHz.

This is making me close Discord when I am not using it and discouraging me from actively following Discord communities.
