Timed mutes

Should be able to mute users direct messaging me. And it would be nice if I could do it for a period of time ie 30mins, 3hours, until 6pm etc. Facebook's Messenger application already has this feature so you can look at that as an example of how this has been implemented else where.

    it would be really great, mostly for those like me who have a spammy girlfriend who like to break is balls by spam with useless notifications about "ho look that new otome games" and sending pics of those waifu-boys to me while i don't give a sh*t about that. :)

    Also, besides direct messages, and channels, being able to do timed server mutes would also be nice.

    This is something that I'd find useful myself as well. I'm in a lot of Servers and sometimes a few users get a bit too excited with Bot Commands for a short time and I have to turn down or turn off the Alerts. If I could make it so that the settings could revert back later, that would be a lot easier for me as well.

    I don't see why you can't make a reminder yourself, or unmute it next time you feel like chatting.

    This would be so helpful. I am in multiple servers and I hardly check a lot of them for days because i forget to unmute the server and take a look at it and see what is happening. I mute the server most times, so I do not interrupt conversation.

    Chloe, I would agree but I have short term memory loss and it's very nice to have it all in one place so it's easier to remember

    Maybe should be an option like in Slack app? When clicking on list of status there should be a list of "turn off the notifications for... 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 8 hours"? It could be very useful if you are at your job. Or I didn't understand You well :)

    Timed mutes seem like a really good idea to me. While my Android phone already has the ability to do a scheduled/timed Do Not Disturb mode across my entire phone, it would be great if Discord had this too.

    For some reason my ticket was merged with this one when I was asking about a completely different thing, but I think it would be useful if you could collectively mute all servers but still have notifications from DMs—basically my situation is the complete opposite you yours.

    Would love to have this feature for Servers, Server channels, Group DM's, and even DM's alone. Like Telegram, where if you tap on mute, it'll ask if you just want to mute for 1 minute, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 3 hours, 12 hours, 1 day, 1 week, perm..

     

    Really lets it be easier for me to mute a 'loud' group DM or a discord server that I don't want to accidentally mute and forget.

    I was about to post a new thread until i noticed this one, this is my take: it would be very useful if you would temporarily mute a channel, server or even all of discord for a certain amount of time. For example when there is a discussion going on you are not interested in, you can click the channel mute button and select for example: 30 mins. Then for the next 30 mins you wouldn't receive notifications from that channel. The same could apply to a server mute. Simply muting the channel permanently like we can now isn't ideal because you always forget to unmute it (or come out of DND) and you wonder why discord has been so inactive for the past few days.

    Please do this! I want to stop getting notifications for current chat conversations I don't care about, but then not run into the issue where I forget to unmute.

    I been mute for quite a while now I got muted once and this is the second time I waited around 2 days or so and I’m still muted

    I was being mute cause a admin he was mute me even he in  the id was saying he was a female make alot of us unccoumble already and making me offanded in a way and then he mute me 20 min in a warning luluuwu-#1000 for mute me in the honey server he did that to upset my friends who are in mute me cause he dont wanna give in where I start the war with him and I told my friends to help while I was being mute he was going to crazy now taking advange of me and making me upset asking me to stop while they continue and I was being muteed 20 mins with one warning witch I never did anything I was trying to help he dont wanna give in and broke the rules so pls do something thx
