scroll bar on the server list

i would like to have this feature because i have a laptop with no scroll pad

    especially super frustrating considering that I'm on a laptop without a mouse, and all other scrolling functionality besides 'mouse' or 'double tap and drag on laptop trackpad', which I CAN'T DO, has been taken out.

    ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE FACT THAT THERE ARE VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE THAT TRIED TO USE DISCORD AND IT DEPENDING ON WHAT THEIR EYESIGHT RANGES IT'S NOT EASY SEEING KEYBOARD COMMANDS SO YEAH THIS IS DEFINITELY NEED IT I THINK WE HAVE A SCROLL BAR FOR THE PEOPLE IN YOUR SERVER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCREEN WE NEED SOMETHING FOR THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN DESPERATELY SOMEBODY PLEASE ADD THIS

    PLEASE? I literally cannot get to half of my servers from my laptop. This is an annoying ass issue. Even slack has a server scroll on their platform.

    Please! This is the worst and it must surely be possible to implement? I keep having to leave servers because it's just so inconvenient to keep them.

    I have the same issue on my laptop. The side of the track pad doesn't scroll like a mouse wheel, and there is no way for me to go to lower part of my server list. I have to just keep the most used servers at the top and kind of ignore the rest exist unless on a desktop.

    Noticing this more and more, while using my wacom tablet to do artwork, then switch to discord. I can scroll on everything BUT the server list.

    Definitely a UX oversight.

     

    You guys already have this feature on the Phone app. Why is this a completely separate thing for desktop/browser?

    I’m pretty sure there is a s m a l l little scroll bar on the left of the list and you can always use ctrl-k 😉

    Good idea! Maybe this can be toggle-able just in case some people don't want it. They could probably also add it to the channel list and server list then too.

    IDK why they took it out, it's annoying that I have to have a mouse to get to more of my servers

    There's the workaround I use which is click and drag down which kinda works for when using the touchpad, but this is really a must have feature...

    Yeah this is a set standard for touch interface but not for regular desktop UX.

    In essence, when you change it to touchpad it basically uses phone/ipad input functionality so it's not a real workaround.

    You can use scrolling on touchpad using 2 fingers and moving up/down. Side scrolling is also possible when moving to the left/right.

    What's really irritating about this is that the feature existed, and it was removed for what seems like absolutely no reason. I have a touchpad and no mouse, so half my servers are inaccessible on my laptop. It's been four months since OP put this up! Come on!!

    Bumps? I'd really love to see this. Using Discord on trackpad makes it pretty much impossible to switch to some guilds without moving some around.

    I have this problem too.  This is a pretty silly design oversight.  It falls under the "design by bad assumption" category.  I have a scroll mouse, but my wheel recently broke.

    For some reason, some of the time, if I select the bottom server, I can use arrow keys to scroll down, but it doesn't always work, I don't know why.

    For people who want to save screen space and don't need them, they can always add a setting to turn them off.  On another note, the other scroll bars in discord are so tiny and light colored that it took me weeks to figure out that they even existed, so for quite awhile I just assumed that the server scroll bar was so tiny I just couldn't see it, but now I see it actually doesn't exist.  o.O

    I've had the misfortune of getting a mouse with a scroll wheel that doesn't work. The lack of a scroll bar - an industry standard since before 1996, is a deplorable mistake. Please remedy this.

    Hey all, here is a trick I use to scroll down servers...

    Simply open a channel on any server in which u don't have the perms to type and then use the arrow keys to scroll ur server list up and down. It works for me, altho I am not sure whether it works for everyone so pls try it out :)

    As a laptop user and doesn't have a mouse, I have to wait for a damn ping to get to another server or scroll. So y'know.
