Nitro Boosting - A Flawed Business Model
I am a (free) user who enjoys your product and wants to become a paying customer ... but you're not permitting me to make that transition! That's a phrase that no business based on a freemium business model ever wants to hear. The key to any business model that's in a growth phase is to make that transition as smooth and slippery as possible (i.e. don't introduce friction). So my question is why sacrifice your financial growth metrics (Customer Lifetime Value & Cost of Customer Acquisition) for the sake of a gamification concept that has not been properly considered?
I would like to upgrade my Discord server in order to uploading videos but I cannot do that without partially delegating the cost to other members due to Nitro Boosting feature. I get that boosting from multiple members holds significance as a form of validation to the server's traction, but cash is the ultimate validation form and you are introducing a friction that causes unnecessary drop-off to your conversion rates. There are many simple and popular free third party apps that can fill that gap but I wanted all relevant communication to be central to a single channel; Discord. In my case, the risk of someone not coming through on monthly bases outweighs the "central channel" befit and forces me to remain as a (free) user even though I want to become a customer.
Like I mentioned earlier, I am a free user who enjoys your product and wants to become a paying customer but you're not permitting me to make that transition.
Kindly guide me to a workaround to get Nitro Boosting on my own expense.
