A Better Way to do Server Boosting Explained
There have probably been a number of posts about this topic already but I had a thought about how server boosting could not only be improved on but made far more accessible to all Nitro supporters. The best part is it can actually increase the amount of profit Discord can make from Nitro just by adding boosting as an optional add-on. Hear me out for a moment.
As it currently stands at the time of writing Server Boosts are provided at the $10 subscription level (unless you're a grandfathered Classic early supporter) which gets you a single boost. There is currently no way to get additional boosts which means you have to decide quite carefully which server you're going to support with it. One server, one boost, when the average Discord user may actively participate in multiple servers for various different communities. This makes it so all the servers are kind of indirectly fighting with each other to attract people to using their one-and-only boost there so they can add all these wonderful new features to make them stand out more.
But what if server boosts were opened up to where a person can use multiple boosts to support all of their favorite servers? You're still limited to a single boost per server per person but you can now spread the love around depending on what tier Nitro sub you are and how much additional you're willing to spend for more boosts. Here's how you'd open it up to make it a lot more accessible.
- First, open up a single server boost for Nitro Classic $5 subscription tier.
- Increase Nitro Pro $10 tier to 3 boosts.
- Sell additional monthly boosts at $2 per boost (possibly up to a limit of 10)
With the recent announcement of games being removed we know that the Discord team is going to want to come up with more things that will sell the Pro $10 tier and right now boosting is one of the big things it has going for it. This still makes that tier appealing because you'd be jumping from a single boost on Classic to having 3 boosts plus other features. Not only that but giving the option to add boosts on either tier at $2 a month each is a fair price that adds to individual subscription value meaning more recurring income for the Discord team. It also means that smaller servers who may not have been able to attract as many boosts as larger communities are going to be more likely to get that support from people who have extra boosts to spare.
Basically it's a complete win/win for the staff and the Discord community as a whole.
Please promote this post and get to the eyes of the staff. They should honestly give this boosting structure idea some serious consideration.

Hey, that's pretty good!

Without games, I don't see how $10/month can still be worth it.
However, I would absolutely pay for a $5/month server-boost-only Nitro, and $2 for extra boots. Hell, if I could just get my server to level 1 (two boosts) by my self I would pay $10/month, even if it meant getting no other Nitro features.1 -
Honestly, I'm actually going to cancel my nitro because if all I get are the two initial boost for 10 month what keeps me coming? What am I working towards? I feel that continously paying for a subscription shows loyalty to the product and in a business practice that loyalty and commitment to their product is key and should be rewarded in terms of at the very least 1 boost per month. I will continue using nitro if I see something like this.
