Is a bot to find someone’s tags allowed

I have a friend who I know the name of but not the discriminator, can I make a bot that will type in all of the discriminators from 0000 to 9999 or would this count as a self bot? My idea was since I knew his profile picture and his name i would just get a bot to type in the last numbers and see if it is him.
