No notifications at all

For a few months now, I haven't been getting notifications from the Android app. I sent a friend a DM a while back and was never notified of her reply, and it's been this way ever since. Rarely I'll get a notification, and I think it only happens when I've used the app VERY recently. I've checked the app's notification settings, in-app and out-of-app notifications enabled, and lights and sounds are not disabled. Rebooted and updated to the latest version several times, problem still exists. LG G5 (RS988) Android 7.0
