Why is every new feature reserved for Nitro subscribers? (example given)

I love Discord, but it's turning to a massive money grab. Every new/sensible feature is reserved for Nitro subscribers. I could understand the animated emoji... but the server profile image, the banner image? Doesn't make sense, since a large part of Discord's overall growth in the last 1 year have come from the crypto community (NFTs in particular), and lots & lots of users belong to various communities. So, give most users an avenue to show support/identify with the server they belong. (*Writing this here because I wrote a review on Google PlayStore and was requested to write/give my feedback here too)

    I do partially agree with this but as you stated more users come on the site, worse servers get --> upgrade them, which needs $.
