Forum Channel Mentions/Pings Limitations
When I try to mention @everyone or "@Server Role" in a new forum post I receive a "Some roles were not mentioned or added to the thread." error.
My assumption is that forum posts might be limited similarly to threads wherein you can't mention a role with 100+ members.
We wanted to use the forum channel as a "server news" type channel where Admin can post news/server updates and members can engage in the posts via replies. But if we can't mention them like we were able to in the similar text channels we previously used it won't be as useful for this purpose.
I can maybe understand limiting pings in replies but for new posts I would think there wouldn't be ping limitations since all members can see the channel, plus role pings are controlled by other settings already.
I am curious if this is an intentional limitation or just a design carryover. Does anyone else want to use Forum channels similarly?

"Does anyone else want to use Forum channels similarly?"
Yes.
This design choice to limit the role pinging to 100 members is legitimately baffling to me.7 -
The server that I moderate is attempting to use Forums as a recruitment board. Lack of mentions due to the 100+ limitation is awful, and should be a super easy fix since all Discord probably needs to do is just add a "do you want to mention 100+ people" like they do with other messages and then let the mention go through.

… And that’s how you kill a great feature making it basically useless. 😕

I agree with this. Forums are a create way of announcing and archiving updates. Why should there be a limit for this?

Just noticed it too.
We also have a server to recruit people for your projects (like voice actors), but we literally cannot ping male voice actors as we have to many of them. x_x
I thought of switching the request channel for a forum, because it would help seperate each post and we wouldn't have to moderate it so much, because people suddenly start their casual talks in it again.
We really need the limitation to be raised or even better, be removed and handled like normal messages. (Or maybe give us server owners an option to choose how many can be pinged at once or something)4 -
ya this sucks to see… We should be able to have forum channels without limits when we mention a role..
Like psa forum section sure you can post and tag no roles but so many will miss that unlike being able to tag that role that might have 500members that they signed up for..3 -
As a bot developer that uses the Forum feature, this is a huge issue for us as well. Users want to be able to have self-assigned roles that get added to forums automatically by Chronicle Bot to have a discussion area for events. This limitation makes Forums unusable in this way for larger communities.

Bekit, seen some talk that bots might be able to bypass this

@xsmashx88x, it looks like the limits may be higher but still get hit at about 250 users.

bekit so you seem to be right, i can take a role with 100+ people…well some peeps and a bots to make it over 100… as i did some testing this didnt work before..
but i cant recall if it don't matter about bots being in that role or not… you have vid/gif can attach showing role with 100+ and being able to ping and show them all in the forum post? i run clan server and purged so many inactive users that ya below 100 active members0 -
xsmashx88x I don't have screenshots myself since it is our customers who are running into the issue when using our bot. From the information that I have, the limit seems to be somewhere around 250 users in a role where our bot can no longer add all of the users in that role into a forum post. To get around this, the user has split the users into multiple roles, but this adds a lot of extra work and I wish the limitation would be lifted.

bekit ya it sucks to have it go from 100 to 250, when some of us with multi servers or one and have many members who want alerts so to have to split it into roles suck.. as 250 roles is the max sooner or later this will be messy… cause there is no way for any bot to be setup where if a member enabled a ping and the role gets to 100 members that the bot says eh your going into this one.. then sure maybe would be better and just remove useless role if close to 250… but ya still sucks.

Many individuals in South Africa often turn to the SASSA Status Check to monitor their application progress. Whether it's a general SASSA Status or a more specific query like the SASSA Status Check for R350 grants, people rely heavily on these updates. Moreover, for those who face challenges or discrepancies, the SASSA Appeal process becomes crucial. It's essential to stay informed, especially when dealing with financial assistance. The intricacies of SDR SASSA and the various nuances of SASSA SRD further emphasize the importance of understanding and navigating the system effectively.

Has anyone found a solution to this? I run a community server where we ping specific roles on specific posts, and this 250 users ping limit is incredibly stupid and it'll make us lose a lot of the work we've been putting on the server for some months now…
