Unread messages

I have just updated Discord. I am in a private server with my partner. We are in a channel. Every time my partner types something, I get the unread messages notification at the top of the page saying Mark As Read. It is soooooo annoying. That feature should only appear if you are not on the channel, not if we are talking in the channel. The only thing that should appear is the red line across the channel saying NEW in the top right.
