the update to the username system is pointless and annoying. there are so many other ways to solve the problems highlighted in the new announcement, and changing the username system will only make things worse. Following what other platforms are doing is a horrible decision. The username system that other platforms use and discord is planning to switch to is fundamentally flawed. The new system will only cause username snatching and selling to skyrocket, leaving many people who have a simple username that they've built themselves on to inevitably lose it, and force them to find a new username to build their brand on, or buy it from whoever took it first. Username selling is a huge problem on other sites, and the only reason it isn't prevalent on discord is because of its unique username system. Me and many other people are very attached to their usernames, and plenty of people have even built entire businesses using their discord username, and inevitably, these people will have to rebrand themselves or be forced to buy their own usernames off people trying to make a quick buck off of getting the roll out early. Overall, changing the username system will just cause more problems that it'll solve. You should listen to the actual people who use your site instead of what other social medias are doing. Ignoring your userbase will just inevitably cause people to leave for another site, and even sooner than that, you'll end up losing a ton of money from all the people cancelling their nitro that they were using to have a unique discriminator.
