Compatibility of .DNG files
Being a user of an iPhone 14 Pro Max with a sensor that can take PRO (RAW) photos, the image renderings come out in .DNG format.
However, when we want to send a photo in .DNG on Discord, it is sent as a file that we must download and not a preview of the photo as we can have with other formats such as png, jpg/jpeg etc.
Although the .DNG formats result in a fairly large image size and do not fit into the maximum file size for a non-nitro subscriber, I suggest doing one or all of the following:
- Users without nitro: AUTOMATIC conversion of the .DNG file into another format (png or jpg/jpeg etc.) for sending the image
- Users with nitro: sending the file in .DNG, with possible viewing, without going through a download, which limits the loss of quality.
We all know that the RAW mode will take place in many devices in the next few years, so it would be important for Discord to be able to make this format compatible when we want to send an image in .DNG
Cordially,
