Upcoming feature which prefixes channel names with automatically-selected emoji - concerned about readability

I have seen evidence that Discord are experimenting with prefixing channels in the channel list with automatically-selected emoji.

While I do not mind this feature on the new mobile interface as the number of channels on show is limited, on desktop I find that servers which already use emoji in their channel names for decoration add too much visual noise, which interferes with my ability to read them. I am concerned that if Discord were to add this feature it would affect my experience with all servers and it would not be enjoyable.

At present, the clean and simple channels list is easy to read, and unread status contrasts well. Category groups serve as landmarks so one can ascertain which portion of the list they are looking at.
