Name Discriminator Exploit
There is an issue that I haven’t seen reported anywhere.
• Let’s say your name is Bugs#0001 and you get prompted to change your name.
• You update your username to just Bugs and your old discriminator is on your profile as “Previously known as Bugs#0001”
• Someone else who hasn’t got the name change prompt (and has nitro) changes their name to Bugs#0001 because it’s now technically available (since you just changed your name).
This has happened to me, currently all new friends requests using my old name with discriminator go to me. Anyone trying to send him a friends request by typing in the discriminator also are going to me.
But what happens when that second user is prompted to change their name?
Do you now have 2 users with badges saying “Previously known as Bugs#0001”?
Also will all of his friends requests now come to me who use the old discriminator forever?
I have pictures of this happening right now as I am one of the users who updated their name first.
With the way it’s working now **if you want your badge to have a #0001 tag** wait for the old owner to change their name, change your discriminator to #0001 and then proceed with the new name change with no discriminator…
