Instead of changing usernames..

Hi Discord, I know you have quite a few posts complaining about changing usernames, most not even offering a solution or suggestion to the reason why you're changing this.

To be honest, I think the numerical identifier added to the names is fine. I do not think changing to the traditional username system is going to make the difference you expect. Having worked with both systems I think people will end up typing random numbers anyways because their username was taken.Also, it does not make searching that much easier since people tend to misspell and have similar names regardless.

Instead, you should streamline the process by using a qr code system similar to your log in system.If people wanted to add each other, they can scan the corresponding code to their phone and get redirected to add. It's easier to implement, allows you to keep the unique identifier and avoid a complete overhaul of the username design.
