Add support for HDR images
HDR images offer one of the most significant improvements in image quality in decades. Please add support to show these images properly on computers which have the required display hardware (which includes most Apple displays sold since 2018 and an increasing number of PCs).
Sample images, information and tests to determine if a given display supports HDR can be found at gregbenzphotography.com/hdr/
In addition to offering significant benefits for photography, HDR photos are required to share screenshots of HDR games.
Support for HDR AVIF images and/or JPG gain maps would be ideal. The latter offers to give us a smooth transition to the future as JPG gain maps will display as gorgeous HDR images where supported and still safely display as standard dynamic range images anywhere else.

Support for HDR gain maps is quickly becoming fairly widespread, including Instagram / Threads, a wide range of editing software (Lightroom, Adobe Camera RAW, Photoshop, Pixelmator Pro, Affinity, etc), Chrome/Edge/Brave/Opera browsers (and safely falls back to a normal SDR where not supported), etc.

Yes, please add support for embedding HDR (.jxr) images. It's very annoying having to turn off HDR every time I'm in the middle of a game to take a screenshot. By the time I do that, the opportunity has usually already passed. HDR images are sent as files instead of being embedded like .png and .jpg, which makes sharing them very impractical; especially if I have no way of converting them.
