remove the ability to restrict custom server emojis
I can't believe this is a thing, we're PAYING for this feature and server owners can deprive us of it??? people have argued that it keeps nsfw and nsfl emojis out of sfw servers, but that's why moderators exist, besides that server owners can use betterantispam and similar bots to censor unwanted emojis. with this current system more and more people are gonna be driven away from purchasing nitro and instead use browser extensions that grant nitro benefits for free

what?!!? This has been a thing since what... the feature came out? How many people are really put off from buying nitro because of this? If you thought about it im sure discord has looked at stats and seen that this feature is negligible at best for effecting discords bottom line.

Woofer21 that is 100% false, this feature came years after nitro released, and how many people use browser extensions to forgo buying nitro vs how many people actually pay for the latter? I also strongly doubt that discord would look at such stats, they're a multibillion dollar company nowadays, they'd care more about their benjamin toilet paper unless a number of people sufficient enough to put a dent in their revenue would revolt, and more and more people are gonna get tired of having the nitro features they're paying for deprived and switch to such browser extensions overtime
edit: the fact that you downvoted my counterargument instead of addressing it says a lot about your side

I disagree. There are many more Nitro features that server owners can and can’t turn off. It’s the owner’s server after all.

CTG123456 yeah, and how many of those features are used more than custom server emojis? you probably think that way because you own a server

I recently purchased a Nitro subscription for access to certain benefits, but to my surprise, server owners can restrict these features within their servers. While I understand the need to maintain a safe environment, it feels disheartening to pay for features that might be limited by someone else's decision. Some users argue that moderation and bots can handle content management, but the current setup doesn't fully leverage the benefits of Nitro. rainguardroofs

Mario Jay agreed, if discord keeps this up, more and more people are just gonna stop paying for nitro and instead use 3rd party browser extentions that give them the most important benefits for free, the sad part is that discord is now a multibillion dollar company and it'll likely take decades of protesting to make them lose enough networth to snap them out of their vainglory

@... I'm not sure what you're going on about with the dev talk when you're clearly not working for discord yourself, but from my past experiences with those who do work for discord, I'd be better off standing on this hill where I'm not the only human in the discussion

Woofer21 ah thanks
I thought you just downvoted my thread and reply and then dropped your mic like a beta 3 months ago

Disable the capability to limit custom server emojis, just as a car locksmith ensures universal access to your vehicle locks. Grant unrestricted expression with our emoji freedom service. Unlock the full potential of custom emojis without constraints.
