Space bar to select a reaction is gone?

It was a thing, it was very handy, because it's easier to reach space bar with shift held. But since like today only Enter works and I don't know why. Space bar just types in a space into reaction search box. Seems like it's intended though, but is this necessary? Emojis can't have spaces in their name, so space bar would just interfere with reaction search. Is it possible to get the thing back?
