Newest update (prior to 2/8/21) made gifs stop auto-playing.

After updating the iOS app today on iOS 14, gifs stopped auto-playing. I can’t toggle them back on because it says my reduced motion settings prevent that. But this wasn’t the case before the update. Can I get gifs to play without changing my iOS settings?

  Man this was bugging me for the last few days. I even reinstalled the app thinking it was a bug.

  There’s no way now to have gif emotes play if you used the reduce motion setting on iOS. Please let us override the setting just like we used to be able to until a few days ago.

  Either I missed this originally, or they just added this in the last update, but at the bottom of Settings > Appearance you can now choose to not sync the reduced motion setting with your phone’s settings.

  So... problem solved! :)
