One-user-at-a-time-speaking: when?
I'm an old Zello Walkie-Talkie user. So I'm a sort of dab hand in voice speaking, eh, and I'm perfectly aware of why language learning communities really suck and don't speak. Yeah, that's true: even servers with thousands of people don't speak, why?
As well as any other not games-related communities just don't really exist.
It's easy. This happens because they don't allow us to speak for some GUARANTEED length of time. Instead there's always a risk of being interrupted.
And for that, the other party doesn't need to do anything special, they can simply decide to start speaking at the same time because of a network lag, or they can accidentally move a chair, laugh, fart (sorry), keck - whatever! That's because their mics are always ON, and that's in turn possible because ALL CAN SPEAK AT THE SAME TIME and there is no any other options.
While this is good for video games, when you really need to be in sync, that's not acceptable for language learning or for any other discussion platforms. Because nobody wants to get interrupted.
For all these years I have been waiting for they have finally implemented this obvious thing like a mode when only ONE person can speak at a time. But no, they don't seem to realize that. Hence this message, a desperate attempt to attract attention to the problem finally.
