Critique of Discord's recent redesign
Thought I should give my opinion on the recent Discord rebrand and give an actual critique that isn't just angry shouting and "minimalism bad"
The Logo:
I think the Logo redesign is passable. You can still recognize it as the Discord Logo from far away. What I would recommend is bring back the indents from the old logo while keeping the "shoulder buttons" fat so it still has its "controller" look. It could also look like someone holding a pair of binoculars to people not familiar with video games, so it can still keep some uniqueness.
Font:
The new Font choice kinda still works in the app's UI (though I hear some special characters break with the new choice), but the way it's used for the app's name and the homepage makes it look too squished and awkward. Not having the name be all caps like before makes it look too basic as well, and I think making the name all caps let's it pop out more. Give it a bit more personality by keeping the slashes on the Ds from the old logo.
Color Scheme (my main concern):
Compared to the older color scheme, the new one seems too saturated and too bright, especially with Dark Theme. I'm worried it would cause too much eye strain for some users. Tone down the saturation on the colors, and the main "blurple" especially, since it's the most used color.
