Selected channel shouldn't be bold unless there are new messages

On the web and apps, channels are shown in bold when they have unread messages. But the selected channel is always shown in bold (and with a shaded background). This is confusing, since you can't tell if there are new messages in the selected channel. It would be better if it weren't always bold.
