Your rebranding and failure to respond to ableism.
Your rebranding is making it near-impossible for disabled folk to use the client. Are you really so ashamed to admit where you went wrong?
Let's look at your principles.
- "We want to make sure that Discord has the ability for everyone to have a safe, positive and inclusive experience, no matter what brought them here."
What you're doing is not safe, positive, or inclusive.
- "We’re determined to make sure that Discord will always be a welcoming place for you."
You sure aren't being welcoming to disabled people. Ignoring their feedback and saying we're just struggling to adjust to change? Not welcoming.
- "Safety is just as important."
Your rebranding is literally giving people seizures. You're really going to claim that safety is important when you're putting people at harm? Really?
Y'all are being ableist, plain and simple. It's appalling. It's been a month and y'all have done nothing.
Sooner or later, someone's going to sue from being put at risk. Maybe then you'll get your act together.
Enjoy being ableist, Discord.
