Spending more time connecting than using discord

After one of the updates a few months ago, I now see connecting at the top all the time, and the loading times are painfully long. About half the time I close the app and reopen and it fixes itself, or at least it isn't any slower than sitting and waiting. I think this was also the same time that a bunch of older messages stopped loading, or the number of old messages loaded was reduced, I'm not sure. All I know is it feels like a bunch of the preloading/saved data was reduced and I liked it the old way. Discord has been getting worse and worse for the last 6 months or so.
