New usernames system feels bad. Massive step backwards.

This new username change recommended me Bluecomet022 because my username had already been taken.

I personally do not like this new username change and it feels like it forces me into using more generic and bland usernames with tons of added numbers at the end. 

Being able to express my identity without limits was one of the positives of discord but now I feel like discord is telling me that I can't choose my own name?? 

I do not see the upside to this new change. It doesn't feel like it makes people more unique, it just forces people into spamming numbers after their names for no real benefit.

I feel like discord took 10 steps backwards by making a change to be like every other social media even though discord was the pioneer of the future of communication platforms.
