    I see everyone complaining about this update, yeah it's annoying to not get your first pick in your username. However, many other platforms use this same username system. Meta services, Twitter, among many more.

    Discriminators were becoming an issue, and combinations of numbers become an issue as more and more users join the platform, along with Unicode characters in usernames making it impossible to add them. So I see this change for the better, but it's not perfect that's for sure - which is hard to accomplish anyway.

    But look on the bright side to this, display names are a great addition and are what is displayed to everyone at first glance.
