Unique Discord names NEEDS OPTIONAL CAPITALIZATION
The new unique Discord names for some reason doesn't allow customization in the form of capital letters. Capital letters are an essential aspect to form the signature name of individuals. An example of this is pro-player names which oftentimes features specific capitalization of letters. Without the capital letters, the names aren't the same and thus aren't as relatable/recognizable etc.
Discord Team, please allow optional capitalization of our unique names - importantly, the uniqueness of a name should only be formed by the specific letter and/or number usage, any capitalization on top is optional. I'll use my name as an example: CHRoOMAX letter-wise should be the exact same as chroomax, and the exact same as ChRoOmAx etc.

This is one of the reasons they got rid of the old system. They want all lower case. It’s ridiculous.

That's one of the things that baffles me the most about the change. The entire change sucks, but the lack of capitalization really irks me because my former username relied on capital letters for the sake of appearances. Completely lower-case usernames are so ugly, especially when you're using them with numbers in the mix.

Exactly. This is the stupidest idea they've ever come up with. Apparently they've forgotten how the English language works. When typing in English names are supposed to be capitalized. Sure, people like playing around with it by capitalizing different parts of the name they've selected. However, to not even allow people the option to capitalize their username is the dumbest idea ever.
Honestly, I'd prefer if they allowed capitalization of channel names in a server, but at least allowing user names to be capitalized should be a given.
Sadly, Discord looks like it's getting to the point where they don't care about how their users feel. It's starting to feel like Google at this point. "We're going to do what we want to do because that's what our investors want us to do. The users will just have to deal with it."
That, unfortunately, is what happens to companies who become popular. They stop caring about what made them popular and instead switch to whatever model makes their biggest investor happy.
Hopefully, some day, they will remember who it was who made them popular and will return to listening to their users.
