Having complete control over your messages
I already posted on this topic once last year but I'll try to make it simpler and shorter this time.
Imagine, you're new to Discord and revealed your first name in a random server. The next day you regret that and decide to delete that message, so that more people don't see it. But you realised that the channel where you sent the message was archived. (To keep things simpler,) You can also imagine you were banned). Now you somehow talk to the admins about it and they deny to help you.
That's it, now you can to nothing about it. What I'm trying to say is Discord should allow users to view, edit or delete messages sent by them anytime, anywhere. It doesn't matter if they are not in the server or don't have permission to view a channel they have messaged in. They should always have control over their own messages.
Similar suggestions have been made here:
1. https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360043233012-Complete-account-deletion
Discord never had a similar update though these posts have many votes and have been there for years.
Even YouTube allows you to edit or delete your comments, even if the video you commented on has been made private. Instagram allows you to view and delete comments too.
We can't just let our messages floating around in Discord and lose our control over them. Once it's done, it stays there forever. "There's nothing to hide, but everything to protect." So let's just hope, Discord does something about this asap.
