Maximum DB Picked up

Most Voice Apps have a minimum DB range for your mic to pick up your voice for “Voice Activity”, I was wondering why there isn't an option for a maximum? I occasionally forget I'm on mic and wish it wouldn't pick up when I yell at my dogs, family, or whatever other reason, so it would be a nice feature that seems easy to implement since the tools all exist already?
