Beef with sound "features"

Hello Discord staff,

I generally enjoy discord and have used it for 6 years. However, sound features continue to be a thorn in my side to the point where I would now rather quit the app (on desktop or mobile) than mess with sound settings. 

1. On desktop, it doesn't automatically follow the native sound settings and there is no option for Discord to do so. Instead, when I log in, there is a 90% chance that for some reason, I will have to go into my Discord settings and re-select my mic or display to get proper sound on calls even though nothing has changed. However, at least it will obey my overall native volume settings on my desktop...

2. On mobile app, it also doesn't obey native mobile volume settings. In a video chat, it's critical to be able to turn down or mute ALL SOUND quickly -- including all people in voice chat and the stream itself. Instead, I find it incredibly frustrating that the sound settings for every individual person must be adjusted and also for the stream itself, and discord doesn't obey my mobile phone's volume setting.

3. All these settings (mic, display, each individual person's sound, the sound of the stream) are all in different places in both apps and fairly well hidden. It's like playing a guessing game and I end up cycling through menu after menu and clicking random hidden things in the hopes I'll find it before giving up and repeatedly having to google where the settings are (swipe UP on a stream to see its volume!? That tiny almost invisible bar??). I spend more time being assaulted by the volume or lack of volume while endlessly hunting for sound controls than actually participating in the call. There was a period for a few weeks where no matter what I did, the stream volume was muted and I followed every guide... I eventually found the mobile stream sound setting was tied to my DESKTOP SOUND SETTING and this was why nothing I tried on mobile worked to restore stream sound!!! 

This was the final straw. These issues have been the bane of my existence for many months. I went from using discord nightly to barely having touched it. Overall, its a good app but my patience has run out.... I usually just quit the call now rather than suffer dealing with tweaking all the sound settings repeatedly, every time I need to adjust something. 

Please help me share these suggestions for improvement to the proper team.
