Option to get pinged for your name in messenges
This could make it more handy for if you actually want to be engaged, cause then it's not necessary to ping a person and so people who don't have this on, won't get the ping and u don't have to communicate for every user if they like to be pinged.
And on the other side, if u don't want to risk pinging someone who doesn't want to be pinged, they will get pinged either way by choice.

Can you not just select to push message on mention?

Of course, but this is specifically for your username without @, so you won't miss those either
