Separate messaging

When I am using discord I find myself stuck messaging and using a server, and having a conversation with other people in DMs. forcing me to open the messaging section and focus on that then once I am finished head back to the server, only to have to go back into the DMs to message again. It would be really handy if there was some way to have a second area where I can have messages come up so I don't need to leave the server area every time I am messaging.
