New update is Painfully inconsiderate of disabled/ND people

I have never left feedback before so you know it’s bad. I HATE this new update. I’m autistic and everything about this new layout except for the midnight theme is downright awful. Everything’s placement is bad, I can’t see who’s online as easily, I have to go through so many more steps to do everything, I can’t see people’s status’ without clicking on their profile, groups don’t look like groups when they don’t have profile pictures. My friend, who has a migraine disorder, is dying trying to keep using your app. Where there are colours they’re way too bright and cause him so much pain he had to find a filter for his whole phone because once the migraine starts it just keeps getting worse. Your new layout is a disaster for everyone and you at least need to keep the option to turn it back because I know everyone, disabled or not, HATES it for every reason I just listed AND MORE. The only difference for me is that I feel mental and physical anguish seeing all the change, and having to deal with all of these awful changes, because I’m autistic and can’t handle change so sudden and drastic. I could handle changes like this other times because they’re were smaller or sheltered to one specific aspect of the experience , but this is EVERYTHING. even just before that you changed how you edit profiles on mobile, which I could deal with because it was just ONE aspect, but this is too much too quick and it breaks so many things RVERYONE loved about discord. Your app is no longer even USABLE for a good majority of people, and this is making me consider moving somewhere else or stopping the use of your app until I can either find a way to revert it or until YOU revert it and keep the midnight theme because that’s the only thing I liked about this update, and then after I chose it THAT happened. Plewse for the love of god change it back.

I am Autistic too. Change hits me hard, and when I got stuck with the new UI yesterday I panicked. I am like a 70 year old grandma when it comes to learning technology, so it was really hard. Now I know how to use it, but it still sucks. I liked the old UI way better, at least let us have the option to use it! (I got a headache last night trying to learn how to use it)

Everything you said, yes. This is horrible and I feel actual dread opening this app now. A lot of my servers are moving to different platforms.

i’m also autistic. i relate and agree fully on this

i opened the app this morning and almost freaked out. i also have migraines so after using it for a good 5 minutes i’ve gotten a really bad migraine and im now lying in bed trying to rest it off:(

planning on canceling my nitro sub i had SINCE 2021 and go back to instagram or somewhere else.

I legit have had meltdowns over the abrupt change I hate the fact I’m the one causing my friends (who don’t have many issues with it other than it looking awful to them) move to something that hasn’t changed as abruptly or it changed before I joined it so I saw it’s version after it changed. It’s difficult for me to even use discord on my phone and it sucks especially when I am unable to see anything on my phone im struggling so much over this discord needs to do better
