Pain from bad contrast options in UI background

Discord's original grey background has been one of the most readable sites on the internet for years. Most sites use a very bad light or dark mode contrast that cause me eyestrain and head pain and make me unable to focus on and read the words. 

This UI update is all of that, every background theme option I see causes pain. I cannot use Discord as it is now, on mobile. 

I could mention the inaccessibility of the DM menu and lack of swipe actions, but I couldn't say much because I can't SEE them. 

Discord has described this as ‘an exciting new experience’ and itself as an ‘accessible program.’ I tried to count the number of threads I upvoted disliking the UI, because email support told me to upvote and provide feedback here, but i lost count after the first hundred. Noone thinks this is exciting. And it is causing people with accessibility issues like mine, pain, to use the app. That is the opposite of accessibility. People don't like being lied to, and Discord accepting feedback and being accessible is a badly obvious lie. 

This is your one chance to fix this, Discord. Add a ‘revert to old layout’ option, or roll back the update, whatever it takes to make your program useable. If you don't, noone will use it. It's that simple.

    highly agree, dark mode now doesn't match the other dark mode functions on my phone. this is the first time I've experienced dark mode being as painful as light mode.

    Agreed. I really want Discord to either switch back to the old color themes, add them as an additional option in this update, or allow an adjustable color scale from their old default gray to black, along with an adjustable text color scale from white to dark gray.

    I completely agree the current dark mode does not align with other dark mode functions on my phone. Surprisingly this is the first instance where dark mode feels as uncomfortable as light mode it is much comfortable while using ff advance server on phone i have just tried.

    I'm having a great deal of issue reading the new dark mode. Please at least include the old grey as an option. The contrast is too high - it's extremely difficult to read with astigmatism.

    In new update its possible to decide between, light mode, dark mode (original grey) or super dark mode (black). So just change it?

    I stayed with grey theme after update cuz I like that one most.

    The “Dark Mode” that is available is no longer the original grey that was available with Discord. They have changed it to have even higher contrast, and this is the problem.
