Simple Method for reducing scams.
Due to the ever present activity of scammers, and hacked accounts
I'm suggesting that a simple warning be issued when accepting a direct message, and a support page be created listing common scams, with visual examples.
1. It should mention that the message could be a scam.
2. it should have a link to a support page that describes common scams.
3. It should also explain in brief detail what a staff badge looks like, where it that is located. And provide a small picture of a profile as an example.
4. The user should be advised to not open any links, or scan any qr's.
5. The user should be advised to use their best discretion.
6. The user should be prompted to report the profile if they suspect suspicious, or unusual activity.
It should look something like this…
Beware of scams! (link to support page containing “common scams” which should be its name) all official discord staff can be identified by their official staff badges- (small picture of a profile with the badge highlighted and in its proper place, which is circled.) Do not open any links, or scan qr codes. & Please use your best discretion when accepting unsolicited messages. If you believe someon is attempting to scam you, please report & block them.
The whole thing should be a highlighted and bold. So as to grab attention, and spread awareness.
Hope to see this implemented, thank you.
