Thought Bubbles For Statuses on PC - Impractical and Inaccessible
Not a huge fan of the new thought bubbles for statuses on PC. Previously to read a user's full status on their profile, it took one click to open the profile (or no click at all if "Hide User Profile" was toggled off in DMs). Now with the status in thought bubble format, it takes two steps; you must click to open the user's profile and then hover your cursor over the thought bubble to read the rest of the status. Although a seemingly minute change to an able-bodied user, it adds unnecessary physical labor to the task of viewing a full status, and makes viewing the full text of a status less accessible to users with mobility issues that may struggle with or be unable to move their cursor. If you are navigating the app using the TAB key, you must go through pressing TAB several times just to get the highlighter to navigate to the status and expand the thought bubble to read the full status. So much unnecessary extra effort!
I strongly recommend reverting to the previous manner of displaying statuses in user profiles. It's a change that doesn't make sense, does not improve the user experience, and makes the application less accessible to its users.
Edit (just a few minutes after posting):
So as not to sound like such a negative Nancy, I do want to say it's a cute and aesthetic idea in theory :) Just not the most functionally practical in its current practice.

- Design Challenges: Implementing thought bubbles can be complex due to design constraints and compatibility issues with different operating systems and applications.
- Usability Concerns: Users might find it impractical if the bubbles obstruct important information or if they require additional clicks to view full messages.
- Accessibility Issues: Thought bubbles may pose accessibility challenges for users with visual impairments or those relying on screen readers.
- Software Compatibility: Integrating thought bubbles with various software platforms and ensuring they function consistently can be difficult.
- Performance Impact: Adding thought bubbles might affect the performance of the PC, potentially slowing down other applications.
- Customization Limitations: Limited customization options could restrict how effectively users can tailor the thought bubbles to their needs.
- User Preference: Not all users may find thought bubbles desirable, leading to mixed adoption rates.
- Alternative Solutions: Consider using more straightforward status update methods or notifications that are universally accessible and easier to manage.
- Translation Services: For multilingual environments, integrating thought bubbles with translation services can add complexity, as messages need to be accurately translated and displayed.
- Support Resources: Ensure adequate support and resources are available for users who encounter issues with thought bubbles.
- Future Developments: Evaluate ongoing advancements in user interface design and accessibility to potentially improve the feasibility and functionality of thought bubbles.
