Not working

I can't get this thing to work. probably because over the years people suggest I use discord, I signup, but it's not intuitive at all so I stop using it, many years later rinse and repeat. So now discord has several versions of me, and I can't sort them out. I can't even log in anymore. Wait… I see my email address at the top right of the screen. So why then, when I come in here it says this is an unclaimed account, better hurry up and claim it before it disappears (language that means nothing to me) but I click the claim button anyway, it asks me for my username and pw and then reports this username / email is already in use. OF COURSE IT IS. But you guys can't connect the dots. There is more than 1 of me on here. Couldn't you just merge the accounts or something. That make life a lot easier. Most sincerely hoping you sort this out for me.
