I got caught in the worst trap in the history of discord: Google (officially) pointed out that my account was compromised, I changed my password, which I haven't changed in a long time, and when I tried to log in again, I was told that I needed two-step verification. I don't know about the verification code because the entire verification app was initialized due to a phone change, and the backup code was probably either initialized with the old pc or not dl'd in the first place.
When I contacted discord about this, I was told that the two-step verification cannot be cancelled and that I need to create a new account. If it's too late for this to happen, shouldn't there be several walls and generous measures in place
I am responsible for not saving the code. But I also asked the management, "Did you save the backup code?"
or "Have you installed the authentication app?"I believe it is also responsible to add a mechanism to warn me again before I am logged out, such as.
I understand that 2fa is very important for security. However, it becomes very ironic that I will never be able to touch my account again because of the system that is in place to protect it. From what I have found, many people have had the same thing happen to them. I am sure the management knows this. If this is going to happen, I hope that they will at least take steps in advance to prevent this from happening, or create a breakthrough that can be restored. Thank you in advance.

I am with you about the given situation, but when you're setting up a goddamn 2fa you must always save the recovery code, i personally write them down in a sticky note, looks like a grandpa thing but whatever atleast i can recover them in any circumstance, discord won't help you in this case at all, you must simply create new account
