Not Pleased with the April 1st 2025 change

I know it's funny, and I appreciate a good joke, but it's important that I be able to turn it *off*.

Sticking something on my UI, in a corner (corners are valuable; there's only four, and attentiongrabbing) that I cannot remove is not a good, fun April Fool's Joke.  

If I can just X it out, it's fine. But I can't. It's stuck there.

I don't even know for sure if or when it will go away.  It is reasonable to conclude that it will go away after the 1st, but I don't know that.  

April 1st jokes should be fun and unintrusive, and we should have the option of not engaging with it.  This is not fun, it is intrusive, and I have no choice but to engage with it.  

EDIT: It was pointed out to me that if and only if you hover over it, you get a “Didn't ask” option to X it out.  But if you don't hover over it, you don't see that.  Further, since it's in white lettering, it blends in with my friends' status right above it.  Not easy or obvious to see.

It is still too intrusive.
