I definitely support this, very useful for example to be notified where there is a conversation about a topic we are interested in.

This is such a good idea, just limit it from user names or something in order to prevent starlkers and harassment and let us know when Babylon 5 is a thing somewhere we're already connected to or whatevs. Just, this, plz.

I was just looking for this feature. I was so certain it already existed, I have a memory of using it to get notifications for uses of my nickname. I must have slid into another timeline I guess?

    This would be really useful

This is my single most-wanted feature. On servers with hundreds of messages daily and many channels, lots of which I have muted, I'd really like to be notified whenever certain subjects come up.

This, along with notification when specific users post in a channel would be super useful.

Would love this to be implemented as well.

We can do this by searching for keywords, but why not save all that hassle and make it a proper feature? IRC also has Highlight options when someone writes certain words, for example.

Man, Slack has this for ages already :(

  • This!! It's the one feature I truly miss from Slack.

This would be extremely useful I really want this, both for telling when a conversation on any server is starting that I would like to be in on, and for moderators who would like to avoid specific unrelated conversations on their server (ex. people talking about polarising politics on a peaceful video game discord)

    Useful feature, I support this.

For example, You can be higlighted when someone write about a game topic and the conversation get the deserved attention, a problem I have seen on discord since I start using it.

Could we please get some feedback on whether this feature is somewhere on Discord's roadmap?

Please schedule this feature! It'd be amazing for so many games where you're constantly on the lookout for certain events.

Look up Classic World of Warcraft's World Buff Meta and you'll start to understand what hell is like without this feature.

I'm in a huge server in which postal codes are often mentioned and I'm only interested in the discussion when they mention my own postal code.

    Also support this feature!

I would upgrade to Nitro just for this feature alone. Please implement it.

There are discord bots that do this, but it would only apply to servers that use the bot.

Is there a way to bump this? This feature would be extremely useful, has a ton of support compared to most other suggestions, and the bot workaround is really annoying.

    Please implement this.

Please add this. Slack does this well, even for big servers.

Seems like a popular and useful request, with all the other features rolled out, this one seems like it would be easy, since notifications are already a big function in Discord, why ignore this request?

We've been building a web app that provides Discord digests for larger servers and one of the latest released features was keyword alerts (called Sentry inside the app).

The whole thing is still in Beta so there is much polishing to do, but the core feature is implemented. Just keep in mind our bot is quite new so it isn't supported on many servers, but you can easily add it to a new server if you're an admin.

The app is called WrapUp. Homepage is wrapup ai (with dot instead of space). For some reason, the post can't be published if I type real homepage URL :(

barty777 anyone can make a bot for their own server to get notified on specific keywords.

The whole point of this feature is for servers where people CAN'T invite their own bots, aka most of the servers people use.

Discord doesn't really seem to care about this feature, though; quite a shame.
