Making old direct messages accessible

When your circle of friends grows considerably large on discord, the people you haven't talked to in a while get moved down the chat list to the point where the chats aren't accessible. This is frustrating especially when you are no longer friends with a person and you cant access your direct messages with them because of the newer DM's. I believe I'm speaking on behalf of a large number of discord users when I say, we would really appreciate it if we were able to retrieve old DM's that have been pushed out of the chat list.

    Please discord, respond to us... Me and many others have been begging for this feature, it would be really convenient and help a lot with what I have to do.

    This really needs to be a thing. It's one of the must basic features of a messaging app and it's very important to get proof of certain conversations and such.

    I still have the same concern as well.
    For example:

    • a list of previous direct messages, you can request or activate

    or

    • a function to search for the corresponding content of the conversations
      (if you remember - in that case I do -) for any particular archived DM

    would be really advantageous.

    I message more than 100 people a week. i cant keep searching my friends list to try to find those who've fallen off… this is ridiculous. if there's a reason why this happens then there is a better solution too. just have those dms go dormant and only display the name… store it locally… have a setting or option or another screen so i can see what dms are closing…

    Seriously. This is so stupid. One of my friends can do this because of how old their account is and apparently they just outran discord's nonsense with this somehow, but mine is only from 2016 and up. I want to see old DMs, but I can't, and not even betterdiscord lets you do it. Ridiculous.
