Option to toggle "[user] is typing..."
I'd really like an option to toggle the "[user] is typing..." notifications on and off. I spend most of my time on Discord invisible for a reason, and it kind of makes me uncomfortable that other people know when I'm typing - I feel pressured! Seeing other people typing just makes me sort of anxious in anticipating the message, too. I think a toggleable option would be very nice. I think this used to be an option in Skype, if I remember right.

Client side or the user who's typing can disable it for everyone?
For the former, I'd have to agree, on mobile it can be quite annoying
for the latter, You can always go invisible.

I don't want to go invisible - it's fine that they know I'm there, and could indeed be useful. I just don't want to start typing something, realize "wait, I need to double check that" or just change my mind, and have the inevitable "oh wait are you replying or not?" bulloney.
Frankly it's absurd to me we're so insecure in our social networks that we need to know the instant someone starts thinking of giving us attention.

I want to disable seeing the text at all. It's a notification I can't do anything with, so I should be able to disregard it at the interface level. I don't care if other people can see when I'm typing. I just want to not be notified when someone else is, because that's their business, not mine, and it shouldn't dictate my behavior.

I would love to be able to disable this "feature" too. I find it unnecessary and disturbing. No one needs to know when I rage-type and delete it after. Definitely feels like it should be a privacy option.

I'd also like an option to disable sending the typing notification to others. It's fine for regular chat but it can make awkward conversations more awkward when the other person can see you figuring out how to reply.

Yes please can this be added, it will be so much better for users that are using discord with co-workers so it allows people to type a message and move on rather than get caught up in a longer chat than they need to. It would be so great for productivity, and also help to alleviate anxieties knowing someone can see you type, it allows someone to take their time to contemplate their answer.
