Bot Exclusive Permissions

    I really like this idea. I think that Twitch already has similar procedures for message approval in their chat. Your example could easily be coded into the bot, but a permission would be a good idea.

    This would also be great for hiding bot commands that not everyone needs to see. Along with some kind of /whisper functionality to communicate with members privately in a group chat setting this would be very useful. Members could then interact with the bot in private without having to deal with additional tabs or channels for DMs.

    Yes, @Grimshad, something like the Clyde bot (which runs on your Discord client, I am fairly sure) where the bot can send a message that will only show for the one user would be great, that could be another permission you could give to bots only.

    I know this thread is about bot permissions and that would be great, but I honestly think it should be a permission option for any role. It would be nice for anyone to be able to send PMs back and forth without having to create a whole new DM tab.

    Maybe, but I think it would be most useful for bots.

    This would be a great idea. I really want the bot to be able to use emojis from another server and use animated Emojis.

    @GiraffeMan they can do both - in terms of emojis, they essentially have Nitro.

    @Xx_SuPeRsLaYeR_xX How is that helpful at all? Just block? what do you mean just block could you perhaps be even less helpful?

    @forgi_forgeth

    As I understand it the bots cannot hide messages either because Discord does not have the functionality to allow that?
    I'm not sure what you are trying to say here ? :)

    I want my own bot's commands to not show up in a text channel when being used. But still go through with the action that was sent by the command.

    blocking makes the message not appear. though maybe that's not what you want.

    maybe next time make your intents clearer and not explain like you've never learned computer terms.

    Hi, this is called denying the bot the SEND_MESSAGES permission in your specific channel.
    Then the bot will do whatever it has to do, but it will not send the output, as it does not have permission to.

    what do you mean by "sometimes we dont want the bot to respond"?

    This is a good Idea but we need to send a big alert to the Owners and allow them to Undo some bot desicins in case of token hack
