Just cancelled my nitro subscription
Hey everyone. This area is called a "feedback", so I decided to drop some. No need to followup, just a random data input from yet another customer.
I've just cancelled my nitro subscription. I'm probably not a typical customer, but still. I do use discord occasionally and only as a skype replacement. So for me there are basically 2 scenarios:
(a) don't bother with a login and password, exchange tags over whatsapp and make a fresh single-use throw-away account.
(b) make an account with a login and password.
I'm old and stupid, so I did (b). I liked a lot what you were doing so I bought a nitro - for a promise of better video (no difference really) but more to support what you're doing. The thing is, that this is grossly punished. Now, the moment I start your app I have to play a monkey - select all images with traffic lights, clich until none are left, then find all cars, then fire hydrants. Then go reach the phone and click the link in email, then re-enter username and password once more.
One time is OK, but doing this each time when "OMG your IP address changed" is a nuisance. The option to use a single throw-away account becomes more and more appealing. I think it is wrong to punish users for loyalty, so I'm acting in accordance with my beliefs.

None of the things you just described happened due to nitro.
EDIT: More specifically, they are standard safety checks that some accounts get for one reason or another. If you choose to cancel your Nitro subscription, that's fine, but none of your problems arose from Nitro.
