Idea: Do Not Disturb could have a whitelist.

The whitelist would allow certain users to give you a ping, regardless of your status. Toggled off by default.

  Having a server whitelist could be useful too! But agreed, a user whitelist would make Do Not Disturb to function usefully while allowing priority people like close friends to still ping you.
