Discord desktop : Download files without opening the web brower

Hello,

I want to submit a minor feature for the desktop app; I don't know if it is possible for safety reasons...

When I click into the download button of a file, the app simply start the default web browser to open (and download) the file.
It could be faster if the download is made from desktop app (ask for the location of the target file and download whitout opening the browser...)

    Rather than starting a new topic I'd like to add to this that it seems to be impossible to download an image from the desktop app at all. The only option is to use "open original" and save it from the browser. This gets frustrating after a while, especially when Windows Update decides that your browser of choice is not good enough. A similar download button on image previews would be super helpful.

    @altreus™  it seems to be impossible to download an image from the desktop app at all.

    They implemented it as for now (right click -> save as), but not the feature I'm requesting.

    However, it's implemented in the mobile version.
