Yes, there should be an option like "Turn on notifications only for DMs and @mentions". I just want to know when I'm addressed directly, otherwise my notification panel is too congested with random messages that I'd still want to see on PC.

That....does exist already. Just turn off sync across clients, and fiddle with your notification settings in the mobile app. You’ll need to manually turn all your server notifications to “Only @mentions”, and maybe “suppress @here and @everyone” but that’s all you gotta do.
