Voice Chat Causing Black Screen

On mobile. Everytime I get in a voice call and go into a different app such as a game, discord turns off my screen randomly on my phone. Which causes my buttons on my phone not to work while the black screen is on, even the power button used normally to turn the screen back on. It's mentioned frequently in reviews but I saw no mentions here about it so here I am. If anyone knows a fix for this lmk please. (Android, Samsung, not an older phone). All my permissions for discord have been turned off but problem persists.

I think it has something to do with the update for screens to turn because when I set my phone in certain angles the screen comes back on.
